The JVC HDD series is a good camcorder. But the files it creates are NASTY MOI/MOD format. Here is how you can convert them to work with iMovie or other Apple application. I read plenty of forum posts about this before finding this solution. The idea was to negate the need to capture tape by using digital files. Unfortunately the JVC software is rubbish and the time savings are just not there ... so here is a tutorial, and a walkthrough that all PC/Mac teachers might find interesting when considering the purchase of JVC HDD for students...ask youself if this is going to be too hard for them?
