This video describes how Gainesville's own Eastside High School students and their teacher found Native American ancient dugout canoes on a field trip to Newnans Lake. The Florida Museum of Natural History and the Florida Bureau of Archaeological Research revealed the world's largest archeological find - 101 dugout canoes buried along the lake's shoreline in 2000. The video may be viewed in the Museum's "Dugout Canoes: Paddling through the Americas" exhibit.
