Join a young woman named Elizabeth on her journey to discover more about life in the CPA career with Start Here, Go Places and the AICPA

Curious about what career is right for her, Elizabeth set out to explore the CPA profession a little more. To get the real story on an accounting career, Elizabeth first talked to a recently certified CPA Scott Geans. Scott worked as a Portfolio Manager for Fifth Third Bank in Indianapolis, and gave Elizabeth great advice about the opportunities available to a CPA. With a CPA certification, Scott has the flexibility to work in non-profit, government, banking, private industry, or public accounting. The possibilities are almost endless for a CPA, and opportunities are available in any location.

Elizabeth's journey also took her to Atlanta to talk to CPA and former WNBA player Texlin Quinney, who is not only a full time employee and consultant but is running her own business of basketball training clinics. CPA Maria Thomas, female partner at Larson Allen LLP, explained how being at a big firm affects personal life and taking the CPA exam. Professor and CPA Bruce Behn gave Elizabeth some insight into his life and career, as well the opportunity to talk to his accounting students.
